Behind East College is the Stern Center for Global Education. Opened in 1885 as the Tome Scientific Building, it was recognized as one of the longest serving college science buildings in the U.S. With the construction of a new science building in 1999, Tome's mission and name were changed.
Renovated in 2001 through the generosity of the Marc and Eva Stern Foundation, the Stern Center hosts the departments of International Studies, Business and Management, East Asian Studies, and Global Education. Its smart classrooms are state-of-the-art, and its meeting and conference areas are excellent venues for our international guests and lectures.
