Further west on Louther Street we come to Dickinson's newest student housing. The Goodyear building was constructed in 1891 as a manufacturing plant (and produced shoes as recently as the 1970s). This large facility has been restored as an upperclass student dormitory, opened in fall 2001. Goodyear contains 32 loft-style apartments which house 118 students. In an innovative living learning environment, Goodyear also contains studio space for artists.
