Media Groups
Dickinson College currently has four active media groups on campus.
In terms of print media, we have the Dickinsonian
which is the weekly College newspaper. Current world, national,
local and campus issues, sports updates, and articles on life and
people at Dickinson make this a "must read" periodical.
The Microcosm is the annual yearbook which chronicles the
college during the academic year. All seniors receive a free copy
of the yearbook, and underclassmen may purchase one at a nominal
cost. Each edition includes highlights of the graduating class,
commencement and senior week with distribution in November.
The Square
is a monthly publication that allows students to express themselves
and exchange information on politics, culture, music, and the arts.
The Square also serves as a tool to help you keep in touch with
the arts events in the region.
The college is fortunate to have several other active publications
including Diversity on Demand which profiles current and
contemporary diversity issues on campus, Spectrum which focuses
on issues related to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered
members of the community, The Bonfire the annual literary
publication of Belles Lettres, and Leaves a periodic publication
of The Treehouse.
WDCV
is the College's very own radio station and plays a wide range of
music from soothing jazz melodies to sprightly Bluegrass tunes to
hip-hop and rockabilly. Students, faculty, staff and community members
serve as d.j.'s who bring the best of many musical genres to the
public. The station also broadcasts sporting events, as well as,
the weekly Bill Durden show which highlights topics of the world
and local and community interest.
