My name is Julia Deupree and I have the honor of being the chief of staff of the Diversity Initiatives Office for the 2006-2007 academic year. I am an anthropology major with a passion for social justice and equality. My name is Lauren Wetherell. I consider myself to be from little bit of everywhere because I have lived in different states like Minnesota, Texas, and Massachusetts. People like to ask me which one is my favorite but I honestly don't have one. Living in different areas of the country has given me the opportunity to experience small and large cultural differences. These differences are range from words like “pop,” “coke,” and “soda” used to describe the same thing to whether you know your neighbor.

Emily Wing

My name is Emily Wing and I am a sophomore from Yarmouth, Maine. I am an English major with a minor in Education. I am currently the co-treasurer of Phoenix and am involved with other community service efforts through the college, including coordinating a trip to New Orleans to do Hurricane Katrina relief. This year as a Diversity Assistant I hope to work towards bringing not only the college community together on topics of diversity, but also reaching out to our greater Carlisle community and incooperating them in our efforts to diversify the community.
