Student Fitness Classes



Student fitness classes are sponsored by the Student Senate.  

The following fitness classes are being offered during the Spring 2012 semester and will be held in the HUB dance studio.  

Zumba  Wednesdays, 7-8 p.m., beginning January 30, 2012Instructor: Dana Angotta 

Zumba is a dance-fitness fusion practice based on Latin rhythms, but includes many other types of music as well. The classes are made up of dance routines, with easy-to-follow steps and absolutely no dance experience required. Zumba is designed to be fun and energizing for anyone who wants to participate. 

 

Pilates  Tuesdays, 6-7 p.m.Instructor: Jenni Moore 

This class will help students gain strength, flexibility and body awareness through a series of exercises designed to greatly improve the core, spinal flexibility and posture. Students will learn targeted exercises that will challenge the whole body, helping them to feel longer and leaner. Through proper breathing techniques, stabilization and alignment, students can achieve better overall health. 

   

Yoga for Stress  Tuesdays, 7-8 p.m.Instructor:  Jaqueline Hanson 

   

Yogafit  Wednesdays, 6-7 p.m.Instructor: Cheri Getty 

This class emphasizes breathing techniques and postures to improve flexibility and build strength and balance to the body. Through a series of flowing postures, students will gain body awareness as well as enhancing relaxation and relieving stress.
