Smoking Policy

Dickinson College is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all members of the college community and for all visitors to campus. This commitment is consistent with the college’s efforts to promote wellness and those habits which support life-long healthy living. For these reasons, smoking is permitted only in outdoor areas of the campus (at least 25 feet from the entrance of any building). Smoking is prohibited in all areas of campus buildings, including individual rooms, ofﬁces, restrooms, hallways and stairwells.

The success of this policy depends upon the thoughtfulness and cooperation of each individual. All members of the Dickinson community share responsibility for its enforcement. Any violations which cannot be resolved informally will be handled via the usual disciplinary procedures of the college.
