The Counseling Center is dedicated to enhancing the healthy psychological, social and intellectual development of Dickinson College students. Direct-service and outreach programs are provided by professional staff, including licensed psychologists, staff clinicians and social workers. Psychiatrists provide consultation and assist in the provision of medication to students in need of such intervention.
The staff of the Wellness Center is bound by the legal and ethical guidelines regarding client confidentiality. Individuals and offices outside the Wellness Center are not informed that a particular student has sought services unless (1) the student provides written consent to release such information; or (2) the student is judged to be a danger to self or others, in which case steps are taken to insure the safety of both the student and others.
The Wellness Center is located at the corner of Cherry and Louther streets. We are located in the extension to the Kline Center next to the Fitness Center on the second floor. See the Campus Maps page.
Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Open Hours are held Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. - noon, and 2-3 p.m. During Open Hours, students are seen by a counselor for a brief individual visit, typically 15-20 minutes, on a first-come, first-served basis.The counselor will then plan with the student for any follow up services if needed.
