• Bonner Leaders Program

  The Bonner Leaders Program is a program of the national Corella and Bertram F. Bonner Foundation of Princeton. NJ. Bonner Leaders serve at local agencies, applying the education they have learned in the classroom in a practical way in the community. • English as a Second Language (ESL) Field of Dreams

  This program provides English lessons to adults in the community whose first language is not English. By helping adults learn and improve their English communication skills, we hope to empower them to access more resources, information, and opportunities.

• Habitat for Humanity

  Habitat for Humanity is a national organization that works to eliminate poverty housing by building and restoring houses then selling them to qualified families at no cost. The Dickinson chapter works in nearby areas throughout the semester and raises money for the organization.

Language Interest

• Circolo Italiano

  The Italian Club was formed to give students an opportunity to become culturally involved with the language. Films, dinners, and guest lectures are an integral part of this program.

• French Club

  The French Club brings together students who share an interest in the cultures of the French-speaking world, from Africa to Western Europe, from Asia to North America. Weekly dinners, films, parties, and trips to places like Quebec City and New Orleans are some of the activities sponsored by the club. Knowledge of French is not required.

  The Octals were founded during the 1995-96 academic year by eight talented men who wanted to revive the old Dickinson tradition of men's a capella singing. The group has grown to be one of Dickinson's most popular entertaining groups. During the spring of 1999 they released their first CD, titled the Limestone Cowboys.

Religious Life

• Dickinson Christian Fellowship (DCF)

  DCF is an interdenominational Christian fellowship with a seven day a week ministry. Weekly meetings on Friday nights are times to learn, love, grow, and celebrate God's love. Many small group Bible studies meet during the week to build community and provide nurturing and support. Members also meet regularly to pray and share meals. DCF is affiliated with the national sponsor Intervarsity Christian Fellowship of Evangelical Students.

  Hillel seeks to provide activities to help Jewish students retain their cultural and religious ties to Judaism by providing programs and religious services. • Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (Upsilon Delta Chapter)

  Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. A sisterhood of more than 200,000 predominately Black college educated women, the Sorority currently has over 900 chapters located in the United States, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas and the Republic of Korea. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization's Five Point Thrust of: * Economic Development * Educational Development * International Awareness and Involvement * Physical and Mental Health * Political Awareness and Involvement The Sorority was founded in 1913 by 22 students at Howard University. These young women wanted to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence; to provide scholarships; to provide support to the underserved; educate and stimulate participation in the establishment of positive public policy; and to highlight issues and provide solutions for problems in their communities.

• Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

  Kappa Alpha Psi was founded on the campus of Indiana University on January 5, 1911. The Fraternity's fundamental purpose is achievement. Early in this century, African-American students were actively dissuaded from attending college. Formidable obstacles were erected to prevent the few who were enrolled from assimilating into co-curricular campus life. This ostracism characterized Indiana University in 1911, thus causing Elder W. Diggs, Byron K. Armstrong, and eight other black students to form Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, which remains the only Greek letter organization with its 1st Chapter on the University's campus. The founders sought a formula that would immediately raise the sights of black collegians and stimulate them to accomplishments higher than they might have imagined. Fashioning achievement as it's purpose, Kappa Alpha Psi began uniting college men of culture, patriotism and honor in a bond of fraternity.
