Professor Judah Cohen - Associate Professor of Jewish Studies and Folklore and Ethnomusicology at Indiana University
“Hip Hop Judaica”
Professor Cohen will lead a discussion on the work of a number of Jewish rap and hip hop artists who have used music to redefine what it means to be a ‘new’ Jew. He will explore the work of mainstream, alternative, and parody artists such as Y-Love, the Hip Hop Hoodíos, Remedy, Blood of Abraham, 2 Live Jews and Chutzpah.
