Extended Orientation
The Devision of Student Development has created a series of sessions that supplement the Orientation program. These sessions are designed to assist in your transition to college life outside the classroom. While we strongly encourage you to attend all Orientation events, there are a few program that require your participation as a member of the Dickinson community. Your full participation in these programs will help you make well-informed social decisions, and for that reason, completing all Web modules on time, attending "Sex Signals" and participating in all Extended Orientation events are expected of all incoming student. Please bring your student ID so that we can verify your attendance.
About the Sessions
Alcohol & the Dickinson Community: Reconnect with your Orientation group for this interactive conversation about campus social life as it relates to alcohol. What do Dickinson students really think? Find out as we poll your group and compare your thoughts with those of past incoming classes. Led by members of the professional staff and your Orientation Leaders, this program just might challenge things you've seen and heard, so your questions and opinions are encouraged!
Gender, Non-violence & the Dickinson Community: Upper-level students will facilitate a conversation with you and other students in your Orientation group about gender, consent, the scoop on social norms at Dickinson and insights on the information you learned through the Unless There's Consent online program. Together, you'll learn how you can help maintain a safe, respectful campus community.
