Following two years on the offensive line, Bob Ziegler ’05 moved to defense last fall, and he has been just as effective at stopping the run as he was in helping to create it.

Last season Ziegler earned Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors following his second game at defensive end. He recorded a game-high 12 tackles and 4.5 sacks in a thrilling 17-16 win over Hobart College.

He went on to finish 14th in the nation and second in the conference with 11 sacks. A Second-Team All-Centennial selection, Ziegler also was awarded the team’s distinguished Jimmy McGeehan Wearin’ the Red Award.

This season, Ziegler is a team captain and has already been named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week. He leads the Centennial Conference in tackles-for-loss, sacks and forced fumbles, and he ranks seventh in career sacks at Dickinson with 16.5 in less than two full seasons. -

The Dickinson College women’s volleyball team is off to a great start this season. The Red Devils jumped out to a 5-0 start in conference play, suffering their first loss at Johns Hopkins on Oct. 12.

Middle-hitters Margie Hatch ’06 and Ashley Young ’07 have led the attack, combining for almost half the team’s kills this season. Young has consistently led the conference in hitting percentage and ranks among the leaders in kills. Hatch is second on the team in kills this season, and leads the Devils in blocks. She ranks in the top five all-time at Dickinson with more than 150 blocks in her career.

Ashley Lakin ’06 moved into second on the all-time list for digs in less than three seasons. Sophomore setter Jen Voltz also has moved up on the all-time assist list as she has more than 800 in just her second season.
