Parent to Parent

A father and daughter enjoy a stroll across campus during Family Weekend.

Dear Parents,

We hope many of you were able to attend Family Weekend a few weeks ago. That weekend reaffirmed what we already knew—it’s an exciting time to be a part of the Dickinson family. Our daughter, Cate, a junior at Dickinson, is thriving in true Dickinson fashion!

Dickinson provides a wide range of opportunities to our children that allow them to learn and grow in a way that is “Distinctively Dickinson.” The outstanding academic curriculum and campus programs are what make Dickinson the dynamic and vibrant community that it is today.

Dickinson could not accomplish its goals without the help of volunteers who offer their time and talents. We invite you as parents to take an active role in the life of the college by supporting the various opportunities available. You can volunteer to speak to prospective families, represent Dickinson at your local college fairs, host a student internship, and attend or help organize club events in your area. We encourage you to get involved.

The Parents Council’s mission is to be actively involved with these volunteer opportunities and encourage other parents to do the same. If you would like to be involved with the Parents Council, please contact Laura Wills, Assistant Director for Alumni and Parent Programs, at (717) 245-1949 or willsl@dickinson.edu.

As part of the college’s continuing effort to communicate with parents, Dickinson has launched an electronic newsletter for parents. If you would like to receive the newsletter, please provide the college with your name, e-mail address and your child’s name and class year. Please contact the Office of College Relations at (717) 245-1373 or colrel@dickinson.edu.
