Weigh In on the Issues

Rush the vote! Share your thoughts on the election.

Pennsylvania voters may decide who will be the Democratic presidential nominee. Before the primary takes place on April 22, weigh in with your thoughts on some of the issues raised by the campaigns.

  • What does the 2008 presidential election tell us about where we are as a diverse nation?
  • Do the candidacies of Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama represent the fulfillment of the dreams of the Civil Rights and Women's Movements, or do they allow us to evade questions of structural inequality in American life—for example, the disproportionate number of people of color living in poverty, or the persisting gender gap in income?
  • How have the media—and the campaigns themselves—used difference as a way of evaluating the candidates in terms of their electability, personality, and ability to govern a diverse society in a time of war and recession?
