Joseph Priestley Celebration
October 12, 2004

The 2004 Priestley Award was presented to Jacqueline K. Barton, the Arthur and Marian Hanisch Memorial Professor of Chemistry at the California Institute of Technology. Barton has opened a new approach to the study of DNA that may be critical to understanding consequences of damage to DNA within the cell. As part of the celebration she deliviered the lecture "The DNA Double Helix: A Different Perspective" in the Anita Tuvin Schlechter auditorium.
