Dickinson is moving forward with construction of a new science complex designed to match the college’s innovative, nationally recognized science program. It will be the most “ambitious building project the college—and Carlisle—has ever had,” said Nick Stamos, vice president for campus operations.
The foundation for the complex was laid with the completion of the Tome Scientific Building in 1999, housing the departments of Mathematics & Computer Science and Physics & Astronomy. The next step—the keystone phase of the project—will be a new science complex and renovation of Althouse Hall.
Occupancy of the new space is scheduled for 19 months from the May 5 groundbreaking.
