Shakespeare's "The Tempest"
February 29 - March 4, 2008
The Department of Theatre & Dance along with the Mermaid Players presented William Shakespeare’s "The Tempest." Shakespeare’s last major play is an intriguing mix of the comic, the romantic, the sentimental and the magical. Fred Morsell ’62 returned to campus as guest artist in the role of Prospero. In addition to decades of professional work in New York, regional theatres, television and film, Morsell has toured extensively performing the role of Frederick Douglas in a one-man show he researched and wrote. "The Tempest" benefitted from input by students enrolled in a special year-long course, taught by professors Todd Wronski and David Kranz, that examines Shakespearean scholarship and production.
