Several hundred Dickinson students, faculty and staff members gathered outside Old West for a moment of silence at 2 p.m. on April 17, 2007, to remember the Virginia Tech shooting victims and their families and to acknowledge the loss suffered by the Virginia Tech community.
After the Denny Hall bell tolled once for each of the victims, President William G. Durden '71 said, simply, "Our hearts are with them."
A candlelight vigil was held at 8 p.m. at Old West to coincide with a similar event held at Virginia Tech. Read President Durden's messages to the campus community about the shootings. |
