Campus Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies
September 6-7, 2007

Dickinson opened two new spaces this week, both of which focus on bringing the campus and the Carlisle community together.

On Thursday, Sept., 6, a new student residential space opened at 25-27 West High St. in downtown Carlisle. This space puts students directly in the community and each student living in the residence was required to present a proposal explaining how they would seek to enhance the relationship between the college and the community.

Friday, Sept. 7, saw the opening of the Mumper-Stuart Education Center in The Weiss Center. This space, made possible by Mary Stuart Smith '69, provides a formal space for The Trout Gallery to conduct its community-outreach program. This program serves more than 3,000 children and adults from the community and local schools each year.
