The Trout Gallery is presenting a student-curated exhibition, "Images of Transience: Nature and Culture in Art," which centers on landscapes and still lifes. The 22 works in the show, ranging from the 17th through the 19th centuries, are organized and exhibited around the themes of nature as a mutable condition and human culture as an artificial construct. A catalog with essays written by senior art history majors accompanies the exhibition.
An opening reception was held on Friday, January 24th in The Trout Gallery.
The free public exhibit will run through February 22, 2003, in The Trout Gallery at the Weiss Center for the Arts. The gallery's hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
