Gallery 1 | Gallery 2
The Trout Gallery is presenting two exhibitions during March and April. "An Enduring Legacy: Selections from the Drs. Meyer P. and Vivian O. Potamkin Collection" will be on display in the Lower Gallery. For more than four decades, the late Meyer P. Potamkin, a 1932 Dickinson graduate, and his wife Vivian O. Potamkin, played a vital role in the development of the art collection at the college. Their gifts of works by leading European and American artists include pieces by Auguste Rodin, Max Ernst and Käthe Kollwitz.
The second show, "With and Against the Grain: Five Centuries of Woodblock Printmaking" will be on display in the Upper Gallery. The exhibition, with pieces drawn from the Trout's permanent collection, explores the range and expressive qualities of woodblock printing, displaying works by some of the finest printmakers over the past five centuries.
An opening reception was held on Friday, March 7th in The Trout Gallery.
The free public exhibits will run through April 19, 2003, in The Trout Gallery at the Weiss Center for the Arts. The gallery's hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
