First Annual Dickinson Olympics
April 12, 2003

Olympics | Jamnesty/Earthfest | Car Wash | Egg Hunt

The week started out with snow on Monday and continued through a series of cold, rainy days. With weather like that, the outdoor events scheduled for Saturday seemed likely to be spoiled. Fortunately, the sun rose on a cloudless sky, and spring seems to have returned for good.

Morgan Field hosted the annual benefit concert Jamnesty/Earthfest, as well as the first Dickinson Olympics. Off campus, students held a benefit car wash as well as an Easter egg hunt for area children.

The Student Senate sponsored the Olympics to promote school spirit and to foster positive student-faculty relationships through academic and athletic events. Teams were comprised of 8-12 members (students, faculty, and staff) representing individual academic departments. The teams competed for various prizes and the Dickinson Olympics Trophy.
