Dickinson alumnus Frederick Morsell '62 performed his one-man show on the life of Frederick Douglass, the famed 19th century escaped slave, abolitionist, journalist and champion of racial equality. The performance was part of a two-day conference on "The Underground Railroad in South Central Pennsylvania." The conference was sponsored by the Clarke Center for the Interdisciplinary Study of Contemporary Issues, the Community Studies Center, Office of Diversity and Social Issues and the Central Pennsylvania Consortium.
