Scientist Profiled in Esquire |
Chad A. Mirkin '86 is the George B. Rathmann Professor of Chemistry and Director of the Institute for Nanotechnology at Northwestern University. In December, he was profiled in a special issue of Esquire magazine "devoted to introducing a few dozen people who are changing our world. Saving our cities. Unlocking secrets of science and medicine. Creating new industries. Imagining new worlds. Their work will astonish and inspire a new generation."
Mirkin was chosen for his research work on nanotechnology. The article describes him as a "promethean investigator, inventor, and entrepreneur" and notes his ability to find commercial applications for the innovations discovered in his lab.
