Opening Convocation
August 27, 2006

President William G. Durden '71 convened the college for the 2006-07 academic year and delivered the Convocation address about the five dispositions that define a Dickinsonian. Other highlights included a short speech by Wilfried Muller, rektor of the University of Bremen, and recognition of the junior and senior Sophisters and Shuman prize winners.

Also speaking were Professor Michael Fratantuono, the 2006 recipient of the Ganoe Award for Inspirational Teaching; Student Senate president Michael Bilder '07; and the Alumni Association Vice President Peter H. Reilly '88. Members of the choir led the singing of the Alma Mater to conclude the event.
