 Opening Convocation

President William G. Durden '71 convened the college for the 2008-09 academic year and delivered the Convocation address about the importance of environmental sustainability.
Student Senate President Aaron Williams ’09 spoke and the Ganoe Award winner, Senior and Junior Sophisters and the Shuman Prize winners were recognized. Becky Gill ’09, a member of the College choir led the singing of the Alma Mater.
New students of the class of 2012 walked up the steps of Old West to sign in to the college. Following the ceremony, those in attendance enjoyed a picnic on Morgan Field.
