The Global Experience: England

A student's experiences studying abroad.

During my final weekend in England, I attended the celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in London. Thousands of people gathered along the River Thames to see the pageant and royal barge, and people assembled again to see the royal procession and the queen's appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. I witnessed the national pride of England, through the colorful balloons, waving flags, Union Jack decorations and the singing of “God Save the Queen.” The pageantry and ceremonies culminated with my chance to see the queen and the royal family. The Diamond Jubilee was a fabulous send-off in true British style.
