Dickinson College to Host Global Climate Education Initiative

The Dickinson & Carlisle Climate Justice Teach-In
Dickinson is joining more than 300 universities, high schools and other organizations around the world for a day of learning and action on climate change, climate justice and equity. The Dickinson & Carlisle Climate Justice Teach-In, which is open to the public, will take place Wednesday, March 30, from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Bosler Memorial Library, 158 W. High Street, and at various locations on Dickinson’s campus. A full schedule, including session locations, is available at Dickinson's teach-in website. Guests are asked to RSVP for teach-in sessions by using the online registration form. All participants and presenters are required to be up to date on COVID-19 vaccinations or have a recent negative test result and must wear masks for all indoor sessions.
“This teach-in brings together residents of Carlisle and Cumberland County as well as Dickinson students, staff and faculty to learn from each other about climate risks and actions we can take right now to help solve climate change while creating jobs, improving equity and promoting access to clean energy for everyone,” says Neil Leary, executive director of Dickinson’s Center for Sustainability Education, which is co-sponsoring the teach-in alongside the Bosler Memorial Library.
Sessions at the Carlisle teach-in will be fun, interactive, content-rich and action-oriented. Discussions will include topics like food waste, energy efficiency, water quality, sustainability and equity, among many others.
The event is part of the Worldwide Teach-In on climate solutions and justice that will mobilize 1,000 communities around the world in learning and action this month. Each event will bring together students, teachers, professors and community members to discuss steps that will shape a future that is low-carbon, climate resilient and equitable.
