Internship title:

Marketing specialist intern.

How I got this internship:

I got this internship by networking with Dickinson alumni, faculty, staff and parents.

What I do day to day:

On a day-to-day basis, I work closely with the marketing team at Nasdaq. For example, we will market Nasdaq's various technology platforms to potential clients and pass those targeted clients to the sales team. Also, to further extend Nasdaq's brand name throughout the world, I work with the marketing team to post social media content on Nasdaq's pages such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. Additionally, at least once a week, we travel to the uptown office in Times Square and interview various members of the financial community and provide content to Nasdaq's website.

Most valuable part of this experience:

The most useful part of this internship has been surrounding myself with people who share similar professional interests as myself and getting hands-on experience in the real world.

Advice for students considering internships:

Networking is vital to obtaining a solid internship.

How this internship has helped me:

It has given me hands-on experience on the professional world, like experiencing the daily commute, developing and maintaining professional relationships and working hard, which is essential to success.

Post-Dickinson plans:

I hope to live and work in New York City.
