I am working with a nonprofit in Boston, Massachusetts, which emphasizes bringing soccer and educational opportunities to kids in developing countries and inner cities. I will be helping develop, plan and put fundraising programs into place.

How has Dickinson prepared you for your future?

Dickinson has prepared me in numerous ways. I think the biggest takeaway would be that I am more comfortable with who I am and how I present myself. I am more confident in my abilities to present information to others as well.

What are you most anticipating about your career or post-graduate pursuits?

I am excited to work for something that I really am passionate about.

What are some of the defining moments of your Dickinson experience?

The friendships that I have made outweigh everything. In the classroom, my research methods course with Professor Sarah Niebler was a defining moment for me as a student.

Job Responsibilities

Field organizers are the face of the Pennsylvania GOP and the RNC on the ground, and they work closely with elected officials, stakeholders and local activists to build, train and recruit a network that is able to accomplish voter contact goals. Field organizers report directly to the regional field director and the deputy state director.

How has Dickinson prepared you for your future?

Dickinson has helped prepare me for my future by introducing me to people from all over the world and all different walks of life. Being able to connect and build meaningful relationships with people from all different backgrounds has given me greater empathy and communication skills. I know this facet of my education has prepared me to effectively work with anyone in the future.

Internship Experience

In summer 2017, I was a communications intern at the Republican Party of Pennsylvania at the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, headquarters. My responsibilities included social media content creation, drafting press releases and media advisories, compiling media clips of GOP State Chairman & topical political issues, create fundraising emails, maintain an internal press database, assist in the preparation of official statement, and coordinating media hits (TV/radio/print) for the GOP State Chairman.

What are you most anticipating about your future?

I am looking forward to continuing to connect with citizens of the Carlisle community and Cumberland County at-large, understanding the needs and desires of the region and being an active motivator for positive change.

What are some of the defining moments of your Dickinson experience?

A defining moment of my Dickinson experience was having the opportunity to study abroad in London during the summer of 2016. I had never had the opportunity to travel out of the country before, and Dickinson provided me the financial support to be able to do so. I was able to study closely, in real-time, the Brexit debate and gain friends from around the globe.
