How has Dickinson prepared you for your future?

Dickinson showed me how much I am capable of. By challenging me both inside the classroom and beyond, Dickinson helped me realize that anything is possible with hard work and collaboration. Furthermore, my liberal-arts education at Dickinson taught me that a valuable learning experience can come from anywhere.

Internship Experience

  • Intern, Gustiamo Inc. (Bronx, New York): Worked with clients, assisted product organization and preparation, worked company's website and social media accounts.
  • Ecology intern, AECOM (New York/New Jersey): Assisted with projects on environmental monitoring and environmental assessment.

What are some of the defining moments of your Dickinson experience?

I took science and film classes in Italian at the University of Bologna and made friends from those classes. It is such an amazing feeling when you're able to communicate with people in a completely different language and country. It was one of my most challenging experiences as a student, but also one of the most rewarding. Also, my time as a senior completing my senior research. I worked with an incredibly dedicated group of students and professors, and I loved every second of it. It is so thrilling to be in an environment of curiosity and discovery. I realized that the work you do can actually contribute to how people understand the world.

How has Dickinson prepared you for your future?

As a science major, I was constantly offered many opportunities to conduct research, such as the Eco-League Exchange program, Dickinson in Australia program and labs for my science classes, which helped prepare me for the job I received. I feel very prepared to conduct research individually and as a member of a team due to the labs I’ve participated in.

What are some of the defining moments of your Dickinson experience?

I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of many organizations on campus, two being the sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma and the organic farm. Both allowed me to explore diverse and unique sides of myself that are completely different, but both offered me the ability to grow and learn.

How has Dickinson prepared you for your future?

As I approached my senior year, I worried I hadn't learned enough as a biology and environmental science majors. There were so many great courses I hadn't taken. But in my final months here, I realized even if I still had much more to learn, I now know exactly how to do it. With Dickinson as my guide, I feel as though I have the tools to build my own future, and avoid following a well-beaten path. And thanks to The Handlebar, I'll always know how to fix a bike.
