Documenting Life in New York

The works of pioneering New York City commercial photographer and photojournalist Lida Moser will be on display in The Trout Gallery at Dickinson, in the Weiss Center for the Arts, from March 2 to April 14. The exhibition, “Lens Without Limits: The Photography of Lida Moser,” opens with a reception in the gallery on Friday, March 2, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The late Moser is best known for her pioneering work documenting the city from the time following World War II through the 1970s. Moser, a New York native, began as an assistant in Bernice Abbott’s studio and then launched a solo career, producing portraits of leading cultural figures of the 20th century for Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Esquire and others.

The exhibition is curated by senior art-history majors Jaqueline Hochheiser, Kate Marra and Monica Skelly, under the direction of Associate Professor of Art History Elizabeth Lee.

The Trout Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
