Artists in Residence Present Concert, Class and Lecture

Dickinson artists-in-residence, The Highlands Duo, will present a public lecture, master class and a concert during their time in Carlisle from Nov. 2-4. The duo, Benjamin Shute, baroque violin, and Anastasia Abu Baker, harpsichord, use historical instruments and performance practices. All events are free and open to the public.

Lecture: “Symbolism in J.S. Bach’s Solo Violin Works: A Hypothesis Re-examined”

St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1 N. Hanover St., Carlisle

Shute and Abu Baker will perform music from the 17th and 18th centuries. Their performance is dedicated to Professor Emeritus of Mathematics Peter Martin.
