How I got this internship:
Through a family friend.
What I do, day to day:
I help create Twitter calendars with National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) content. I also do captioning for NEH YouTube videos.
Previous internships:
The Cohen Group (2015) and President Lincoln's Cottage (2012-14). Both are in Washington, D.C.
Most valuable part of this experience:
Sitting in on National Council meetings with professionals who decide which grant applications to fund. The council members are extremely knowledgeable humanities experts and put enormous amounts of thought into all details of every grant.
Advice for students considering internships
Never stop looking for an internship. I didn't find my internship until several weeks into the summer, and I'm extremely glad that I kept looking.
How this internship has helped me:
The internship has given me more practical writing skills for outside of the classroom.
Post-Dickinson plans:
I plan to apply my love of the humanities in a way that allows me to pursue life's opportunities.
