Exhibition will showcase work created during Thomas Wharton’s residency

Dickinson will host a reception exhibiting work developed by Artist-in-Residence Thomas Wharton. The event is Tuesday, April 12, at 6 p.m. in Goodyear Gallery.

This exhibition will showcase work created by Wharton during a monthlong residency with the art & art history department. While on campus, Wharton will maintain an open-door policy in his studio. He will also participate in critiques and lead a series of demonstrations for students.

Wharton’s paintings have won many awards, including The Georgie Read Barton Award, The Katlin Seascape Award, the Windsor Newton Award and the Richard C. Pionk Memorial Award for Painting. He lives and works in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and his work can be found in private collections throughout the United States.

The annual artist-in-residence program is made possible with generous support through the Sylvia J. Smith ’73 Fund. The exhibition will run April 12–30. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 3–5 p.m. and Saturday from 2–5 p.m.
