Arts departments present exciting spring schedule

The spring semester rings in good fortune for arts appreciators. From the first Trout Gallery receptions (Jan. 29) to the final show of spring (mid-May, at Goodyear Gallery), there’s much to learn, experience and enjoy.

Harold and Ethel L. Stellfox Visiting Writer Edwidge Danticat headlines the spring lineup along with taiko drummer Kenny Endo, who celebrates his 40th anniversary on the global stage; Mary Miss, an eminent environmental artist; and Thomas Wharton, a rising star in visual and video art. Faculty and student contributions include the Mermaid Players’ take on a modern telling of an Aeschylus work; the Dance Theatre Group’s much-anticipated spring production; recitals by recent music alumni and by two retiring faculty musicians; and end-of-year exhibitions by Carley Zarzeka ’15 and student artists and art historians.
