The Dickinson College ROTC team, competing against larger schools such as Penn State and the University of Pittsburgh, maintained its position in the top Merrill Division bracket, at the annual Ranger Challenge competition held Oct. 19-21 at Fort Indiantown Gap.

The team, one of the few to field any underclassmen cadets, gained valuable experience, knowledge and strength from training and the competition. The competition's events included an Army Physical Fitness Test, orienteering, weapons disassembly and assembly, rifle and pistol marksmanship, a one-rope bridge, hand-grenade assault course, obstacle course, written exam, and a 10 kilometer run with weapons and backpacks.

Members of this year's team were cadets Brian Wallen '08, team captains Cameron Kerr '09 and Ryan Daniel '09, Eric Verbovszky '09, Joel Meredith '09, Heather Bernheim (Franklin & Marshall) '09, Benjamin Greenlee '10, Robert Francis '10, Daniel Krizan '11 and Gregory Pollock '11. The support team consisted of Michael Yosua '10, Kevin Johnston '11, Benjamin Lyman '11 and injury expert Anneke Skidmore '09.
