The men’s lacrosse team placed a school-record 10 players on the All-Centennial Conference Team.An impressive 34 student-athletes in five sports were named to All-Centennial Conference (CC) teams for the spring 2012 season.
Baseball
Four seniors and one first-year earned All-CC recognition this season, including seniors Andrew Sterling and Sean White, who made his fourth-consecutive appearance on the squad after breaking the career strikeout record, tying the school mark with 22 wins and setting new marks for games started, complete games and innings pitched. Seniors Tyler Rosa and Garrett Horan were named to the second-team and first-year Steven Haynes earned honorable mention. Read more.
Softball
The softball team earned three spots on the All-CC team. Sophomore Chelsea Homa earned first-team honors as a pitcher while juniors Denise Haines and Carly Jordan earned second-team and honorable mention, respectively. Read more.
Men’s Lacrosse
A school record 10 players were named to the All-CC team, including four first-team honors, three second-team honors and three honorable mentions. Rounding out the first-team were Junior Brandon Palladino, who became one of just 23 players to earn first-team honors three times; junior Matt Cherry, who made his second-consecutive appearance on the first team; junior Peter Zouck who moved from honorable mention in 2011 to first-team honors this spring; and sophomore Brian Cannon, who set the rookie assist record last season with 28 and tallied 25 this season. Women’s Lacrosse
First-year Kelly Haglund was named first-team All-CC midfielder while first-year Ali Dawson and sophomore defender Brett Whelan earned second-team honors. Haglund became just the fifth player to earn first-team honors in her rookie season. Read more.
Men’s Tennis
Junior Will Golinkin was named to the 2012 All-CC first-team in singles, playing in the top flight all season. He posted a 9-7 overall mark, winning four conference matches, raising his overall singles mark to 35-20 and adding six wins in doubles. Read more.
Women’s Tennis
Junior Alysia Rodgers and sophomore Shannon Lavery were both named to the All-CC team. Rodgers earned first-team recognition in singles and joined Lavery to earn honorable mention in doubles. Rodgers makes her second appearance on the All-CC team, earning second-team honors in singles in 2010. Read more.
Men’s Track and Field
Sophomore Aaron Pannell was named to the first team in the 100 and 200-meter events and senior Mike Tucker was named to the first team in the shot put and received honorable mention is the discus event. Three additional honorable mentions went to senior Dave Breen (3,000-meter steeplechase), first-year Mu Mu (110 hurdles) and sophomore Henry Mynatt (10,000 meters).
Women’s Track and Field
Four Red Devils received All-CC honors including first-year Olivia Schumann in the 400-meter event. Seniors Catherine Campbell and Ellie Mackintosh received honorable mention in the 10,000 meters and long jump, respectively, and sophomore Anne Dyroff received honorable mention in the 3,000-meter steeplechase event.
