Congratulations Class of 2015!
Decisions have been released to a record-breaking number of applicants
March 18, 2011
Members of the admissions and financial-aid staff put the finishing touches on the acceptance packets before mailing.Dickinson College announces and celebrates the release of online-decision letters to Regular Decision applicants. Congratulations, admitted students!
This was a record-setting year for Dickinson, which saw the largest applicant pool in the college’s history. The college continues to demonstrate its increased selectivity, as measured by the decrease in the admit rate and the increase in the academic profile of the admitted pool. More than 6,000 applications were received (a 21 percent increase from last year) and 42 percent were admitted (a 6 percent decrease from last year).
Dickinson's global reach is apparent, as admitted students reflect 44 U.S. states and territories and 40 foreign countries. Fifteen percent of the class is comprised of students of color, 8.5 percent legacy and 5 percent with international citizenship.
“After months of careful deliberation and selection, we look forward to welcoming admitted students and parents to the college over the next several weeks,” said Stephanie Balmer, vice president for enrollment & communications and dean of admissions. “The class of 2015 promises to bring a rich array of talents to the Dickinson community.”
Accepted students and their families will connect with the college at a number of on- and off-campus events that offer opportunities to meet classmates, network with alumni and engage with faculty and administrators.
