Nichter named Centennial Conference Coach of the Year for men’s indoor track

Don Nichter has won three Centenial Conference Coach of the Year awards, in men's indoor track and cross country, in less than two years.Don Nichter is running up the coach of the year accolades.
Nichter has been named the Centennial Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year.This is the third Centennial Conference Coach of the Year award for Nichter in less than two years; he received the honor for men’s cross country at the end of the 2008 and 2009 seasons.
The Red Devil men’s indoor track and field team claimed its first Centennial Conference title last month. The men’s cross country team has won back-to-back Centennial Conference Cross Country titles, snapping Haverford’s 16-year reign with the Red Devils’ first title in 2008.
Nichter has earned seven Mideast Regional Coach of the Year awards for his work with the women’s cross country team, which he began coaching in 1988. He coached the men's cross country team in 1985 and 1986, and since 1995. He assumed head coaching duties of the men’s and women’s outdoor track and field programs in 2007.
During his career at Dickinson, Nichter coached 12 All-Americans in cross country and track and field and 68 Academic All-Americans. His teams have won 12 cross country titles.
