Two tropical storms swirling up the East Coast created a soggy kickoff to the 2011-12 academic year. But students didn't miss a beat as they got into the groove of another busy semester on campus.

  • Two days after the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, Philip Zelikow, former executive director of the 9/11 commission, delivered a lecture titled The Twilight War. In it, he discussed the commission's pre- and post-9/11 work, assessed the ongoing wars in the Arab and Muslim world and reviewed the state of affairs in post-9/11 government.
