Students in the Dance Theatre Group (DTG) perform the work
of Artist-in-Residence Pam Tanowitz. A Bessie Award-winning choreographer,
Tanowitz's boundary-breaking treatment of classical dance is both eerily
familiar and distinctly contemporary, and her theatrical force is entirely her

A Flea in Her

Feydeau’s classic farce about marital mayhem is chock-full of mistaken
identities, slamming doors and revolving beds. Believing that her buttoned-down
husband is unfaithful, sex-crazed Madame Raymonde tries to trap him by setting
up an elaborate ruse at the Frisky Puss Hotel. This sparks a series of
uproarious consequences that few comedy writers have matched.

Dance Show explores that age-old conflict between art and spectacle-technique in mesmerizing,
poetic ways. Student dancers perform works by exciting contemporary
choreographers, including New York-based guest-artist Pam Tanowitz, the University of South Florida’s Bliss Kohlmyer ’97 and Dina Verley-Christophe,
postgraduate fellow in dance.
