The Hurwitz Green Dedication at Dickinson
On
June 10, 2000, Dickinson College President William G. Durden officiated at a
"groundbreaking" ceremony dedicating the new Hurwitz Green, a garden
located between the two most historic buildings on the 18th century campus.
Speaking at the ceremony were Hurwitz nieces Reenie Feingold and Ann Kay Silver,
and Emily L. Burt-Hedrick, board secretary of Congregation Beth Tikvah, which
meets at the college.
The new garden lies along one of the busiest areas of the Dickinson Campus and through it's location, design and intent, the Hurwitz Green is designed to provide an outdoor sitting room for individual reflection and repose.
