Student Impact

In August 2010 the third cohort of Dickinson College faculty completed the week-long Willoughby Institute in Teaching with Technology.  At this time, thirty faculty members had completed the Willoughby Fellows program.  Although faculty are only required to specify one course in which a technology from the program was used, for most fellows these workshops have a lasting effect on their teaching going forward.  As of the time of this report, fellows had used technologies from the summer program in 95 individual courses with 1194 students enrolled.

The following technologies were employed in those classes:

Twitter, Blogs, Simulations, Podcasts, Wikis (MediaWiki, WetPaint), Comic Life, Clickers, Audacity, Audio, Video, iMovie, Google Earth, Digital Storytelling, Delicious, Skype, GIS, Easy draw, Peacemaker, Diigo, Prezi, Google docs (particularly forms), YouTube, Sliderocket, PBworks, Inform7
