Town Borrower privileges are limited to adult residents of Cumberland and Perry counties. A library card fee of $40 is due upon registration. This is a lifetime membership as long as you continue to borrow (see Closed Accounts). The prospective borrower may register for an account at the library circulation desk by filling out a registration card and presenting a valid photo driver’s license.
The loan period for books, scores, and government documents is 28 days. You may take out six items at a time. Town borrowers may not borrow Audio and Visual materials.
Because the library exists primarily for the use of Dickinson’s students and faculty, we reserve the right to recall a book when necessary. Please return the items within 24 hours of receiving the Recall Notice. A fine of $1.00 per day is charged after this 24 hour grace period.
The library charges 25 cents per day for an overdue book. Books not returned after 14 day of being due will be considered lost and you will be billed replacement plus processing costs ($100.00). You may not borrow additional items until all overdue books have been returned and charges have been paid and/or cleared. Fines must be paid at the Circulation Desk in the Waidner- Spahr Library by check or cash.
You are responsible for all books checked out on your card. The card must be presented to borrow.
The library staff reserves the right to revoke library privileges for continued disregard of the Dickinson College Library’s regulations.
If your library account is inactive for a period of 3 or more years, your account will be closed.
These services are not available to Town Borrowers.
There are two public computers located on the Circulation Desk on the main floor of the library. The library’s on-line catalog, databases and the internet may be accessed from these computers.
There is a charge of 10 cents per side printed. A double-sided page is charged 20 cents. Printouts may be picked up and paid for at the Circulation Desk.
Digital Microform Readers
In order to use the digital microform readers in the information commons you must see a supervisor at the circulation desk or ask the lower level service desk attendant to assist you with login. Printing fees will apply.
