Library Supervisor

Responsible for providing library public services, interpreting and communicating policies while exercising good judgment. Expected to supervise student coverage of desks and provide initial reference services to patrons. Oversees the general operation and security of the library building, conducts opening and closing procedures of library. Assists with managing library user and materials databases . Guides visitors with using library hardware and software in building handles tier one technology issues and troubleshoots equipment. Training and monthly meeting attendance are required. Minimum qualifications: 1 year experience as a Waidner-Spahr Library employee, must have detailed knowledge of the Waidner-Spahr Library building and the services the library supports. Must exhibit excellent decision making and problem solving skills. Required to work night and weekend hours. Also required to stay on campus during fall pause and through the last day of final exams during each semester. (days, evenings & weekends)

RSA Student Help Desk

Responsible for providing technology assistance to users at two high-traffic service points, assisting walk-in clients and answering telephone calls, and escalating when necessary. Expected to work shifts at both service points: LIS Help Desk and RSA in the HUB Microroom. Regular meeting attendance required.

Candidates must possess:
Excellent technical trouble shooting and diagnostic skills, including keeping accurate and detailed logs; familiarity with hardware diagnostics a plus. Strong familiarity with campus systems, tasks, and supported software (passwords / Gateway / email / Banner, MS Office suite, wired and wireless network); the use, support, and installation of Mac and Windows operating systems; malware and virus removal. Strong customer service skills, including professional attitude and demeanor, and pleasant phone ettiquette; strong verbal and written communication skills including being able to clearly communicate to clients the nature of their problems and solution.
