Laptop Loans for Faculty & Staff
At the Circulation Desk, Faculty and staff can:
- Check out laptops for short-term personal use within the library
- Reserve laptops for short-term use by a class within the library
- Borrow a laptop for long-term personal use on- or off-campus
Laptops are made available on a first come, first served basis. Reservations are required.
Short Term Personal Use
The check-out period is for two hours. In addition to checking out the computer, you will be required to sign a responsibility agreement form, confirming your responsibility for any lost or damaged laptops and/or parts.
Laptops for Library Classes
The laptops may be reserved for class use in the library. Faculty should reserve library rooms with CASE and the laptops through the Circulation Desk by e-mailing email@example.com. If special software is needed for a class, please include that information when making the cart reservation.
Employees of the college may borrow a laptop from the library Circulation Desk for up to 2 weeks for college-related work. The employee should request a laptop by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org. The borrower must come to the library Circulation Desk to sign a waiver accepting responsibility for the laptop. The employee will be held responsible for damages or loss to the computer or peripherals loaned with the computer.
All loaner laptops have current software installed. If the employee intends to use the laptop for a presentation on campus, he/she should tell the Helpdesk (lower level of the library) where the presentation is being held so that the Helpdesk technician may determine if a data jack is available at that location. The borrower should allow at least 24-hours notice to prepare the laptop prior to the presentation.
