Joining a fraternity or sorority at Dickinson can seem overwhelming at first glance. There are numerous opportunities in general Greek-letter, professional and honorary organizations, and we hope you will explore all of your options. This website is for the general Greek-letter organizations that are currently affiliated with the 10 fraternities and sororities under the Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council and are recognized by Dickinson.
The processes and timing for a student to join a fraternity or join a sorority will vary depending on when a student is interested in joining. Formal recruitment takes place during the spring semester at Dickinson, and students cannot participate until their second semester of their first year.
It is important to note that the organizations—despite focus, interest or historical founding—welcome all students. The Panhellenic Association sororities regulate their organizations recruitment, and the Interfraternity Council fraternities regulate theirs. The Multicultural Greek fraternities and sororities have national or regional officers who set the timing and regulations around their “recruitment” or “intake” processes.
