Title: “Joseph: Dreamer, Sage, Despot”

Do dreams come from God, as Joseph tells Pharaoh, or from within, as Freud thought? And how did Joseph, a Hebrew prisoner in an Egyptian dungeon, devise a plan to rescue the world from famine? Did great power finally go Joseph’s head, as many modern commentators contend? We will explore the Bible’s most enigmatic figure.
