Organic Farm Alternative Break: New Orleans
March 9-16, 2014 

Looking for a way to work with your hands, get outside, and transform the way you experience Judaism?  Spend a week immersing in the world of urban sustainable agriculture in one of the fastest growing urban food networks in the United States, New Orleans, and LA.  On this trip, you will learn and gain a wide range of experiences connected to small-scale organic farming and social justice.  In a unique and transformative atmosphere you will understand how relevant Judaism is to building healthier communities.  Connect to the growing Jewish food movement, and make a positive impact on yourself and the world.  For more information, contact Jewishlife@dickinson.edu (This trip is open to all Dickinson students)

     Who:  Dickinson is partnering up with Yale Hillel

Where: New Orleans!! We will fly in and out of BWI airport straight to New Orleans.  

      When: March 9-March 16 (Sunday-Sunday). There will be a few pre-trip Orientation days early in the Spring semester to get to know one another, to learn about organic farming, and to prepare for our trip.

      Why: There is no better way to spend your break than giving back to your community!! You will make new friends, make new memories, feel good about yourself, and be doing a GREAT mitzvah! By making this service trip a personal experience, we will discuss ways to bring back our experiences back to the Dickinson campus.

Cost: $400 (Expense for flight)  The Asbell Center will cover the cost of housing, food, and additional programs for the entire week. Payment plans or financial aid can be accommodated. Simply e-mail jewishlife@dickinson.edu
