Repair the World (Interfaith Trip)

March 7-14, 2015

Looking for a way to do hands-on volunteer work, explore pressing social issues in communities around the country, and be inspired to reflect on and understand how Judaism can offer a framework for repairing the world? Spend a week immersing yourself in the Detroit, MI community on our interfaith trip withe the organization Repair the World. On this trip, you will gain a wide range of experiences connected to education justice, food justice, and environmental justice, all while participating in interfaith dialogues.      Who:  The Asbell Center for Jewish Life is partnering with Dickinson's Office of Religious Life and Community Service to sponsor this interfaith spring break trip with a Jewish service learning organization.

     Where: Detroit, MI!! We will driving 3 mini-vans straight to Detroit! 

      When: March 7-14 (Saturday-Saturday). There will be a few pre-trip Orientation days early in the Spring semester to get to know one another, to learn about Repair the World, and to prepare for our trip.

      Why: There is no better way to spend your break than giving back to your community!! You will make new friends, make new memories, feel good about yourself, and be doing a GREAT mitzvah! By making this service trip a personal experience, we will discuss ways to bring back our experiences back to the Dickinson campus.

Cost: $200 - The Asbell Center will cover the cost of housing, food, and additional programs for the entire week. Payment plans or financial aid can be accommodated. Simply e-mail jewishlife@dickinson.edu
