Meal Plans - For Use On Campus - No Restaurants

FAQs

Q. Why must I have a meal plan?
A. Please see the What You Should Know section on the Meal Plans page.

Q. May I bring guests using my Any 21 Plan?
A. Any Plans are nontransferable meal plans for your individual use.

Q. Will I be able to use my meal plan to eat at a restaurant off-campus?
A.  No. Meal plans are for campus dining facilities and the price covers all operating expenses.  Proceeds stay with the college.

Q. Will I be able to use an ANY Plan at retail locations?
A. Yes, you can use ANY Plans at Biblio, Union Station, The Juice Bar @The Underground. Devil's Den will only accept Flex Plans, Credit Cards, Dining Dollars, Devil Dollars, and personal declining balance. One meal exchange may be used per transaction.  You may use multiple swipes in a meal period. An Any Plan meal may be used to purchase defined meal exchanges (a combo meal).

Q. How can I spend my meal swipes on an Any Plan?
A. ANY Plan swipes can be spent to enter the Dining Hall up to the plan's number each week or exchanged for a meal “combo” in Union Station, Biblio, or The Juice Bar @ Underground. Combos usually include an entrée, side, beverage, and dessert. Additional combinations are listed at the locations.

Q. I don’t use all the ANY Plan swipes for Dining Hall meals each week; How can I use the additional swipes I have left?
A. Consider late-night snack meals or Grab & Go meals from Union Station that you can eat or share at another time.  Pick up breakfast combos for Sunday mornings when locations are closed. Purchase an espresso combo at Biblio for afternoon or evening study times. Swipes can be used for a variety of other foods, drinks, and baked goods in Union Station, The Biblio, and The Underground Juice Bar. Please see a cashier or connect with the Special Services Operations Manager and they can help you determine how to spend your additional swipes for the greatest value.

Q. Why shouldn't I use my ANY swipes the way I choose, such as for one muffin?
A. This is to give you the greatest value for your meal plan.  Exchanging an entire meal swipe for a muffin s or a latte only is not the best use of this meal plan.  You should switch to a Flex plan for the next semester for increased flexibility while understanding the decrease in overall meal plan value.

Q. May I let someone borrow my ID card?
A. Cards and the ANY meal plans are non-transferable.

Q. May I bring guests with my Flex Plan?
A. Yes.  You must accompany your guests when using your Flex Plan and ID card.

Q. What if my friend or roommate is sick and can't attend a meal?
A. A student may get a "sick" or "injury" meal for a fellow student. IDs for both students are required at the time of pick up for processing.

Q. May I add a Declining Balance Account to my Any Plan?
A. Yes, all students automatically have an account and all students are eligible to deposit personal, additional funds to the Personal Declining Balance Account.  This is a great way to test out retail services or sushi before committing to a change from an Any Plan to a Flex plan.

Q. May I add to my Declining Balance Account?
A. Yes, you may add to your account with a check or credit card. You cannot turn Flexboard points or other meal plan tenders into Declining Balance money. Use GET, an online and mobile platform, to instantly add and request declining balance funds with a debit and credit card.

Q. Can I add to my Dining Dollars balance?
A. No, additional money cannot be added to Dining Dollar balances. Money can be added to Personal Declining Balance Accounts.

Q. May I add points to my Flex account?
A. Yes, you may purchase a block of 25 points for $75 at the ID office. You may purchase with a credit card, student charge, or Personal Declining Balance Account.

Q. May I transfer Flex points, Devil Dollars, and Dining Dollars from one semester to the next?
A. No, points, Devil Dollars, and Dining Dollars are not transferable from semester to semester and expire at the end of the term.

Q. Will I be able to eat lunch and dinner each day with the Flex Plan?
A. No, it takes 952 points to eat both lunch and dinner for the entire semester. See the Meal Plans page and the section on Flex plans for more information.

Q. What if I lose my Student ID card?
A. Notify the Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the ID Office of Dining Services immediately. Your lost card will be deactivated. You are responsible for any transactions that occur with your card unless you immediately notify the Dining Services Office. There will be a $10 fee to replace a lost card.

Q. How many points do I need for the remainder of the semester?
A. You may calculate how many points you will need by accessing the Dickinson Gateway portal; your current balance is available there. Simply put, 10 points per day are needed to enter the Dining Hall.  If you are a light eater and use Union Station for a la carte selections, you can estimate and calculate your needs.

Q. Are ANY Plan students limited to eating in the Dining Hall?
A. No, all meal plans are accepted at multiple locations. Devil's Den does not accept the ANY meal plan.

Q. Can I change my meal plan once the plan is started?
A. No, meal plans must be changed before 4 p.m. the Friday prior to the start of classes. No changes can be made after the meal plan start date.

Q. What's the deal with food fees?
A. Check out more information about food fees here.

Q. May I use my meal plan at Farm Works?
